This Sound and Light show directed by Christian Salès was inspired by the amazing drawings of La Canso, the cathar manuscript from the 13th century. This epic poem represents a real treasure for European heritage. It was written during the Crusade against the Cathars by two sort of “war reporters”.The only version that has come down to us, kept at the Bibliothéque Nationale de France is illustrated by thirteen magnificent line drawings of great finesse depicting the fights, sieges, negotiations and dramas of the Crusade against the Cathars. Thanks to modern technology, these animated images projected on the walls permit the public to relive this medieval epic, backed up by original music, recorded by the Group OC and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. The end of the show is full of fantasy, it appeals to the magical world of medieval manuscripts and troubadours who sing and play musical instruments of the Middle Ages.
