He finally agreed to share his story with us, which he worked on for a long time. He described the true reality on the ground. We follow him step by step in what was the daily life of a soldier of the Army of Shadows, a painstaking work far away from the exalted stories of the Resistance men of the last hour. He displayed an ironclad commitment made of self-denial, suffering, cold and hunger at times, but always with an unflinching courage.

Unfortunately, Roch ends his book with the infamous tragedy of Fontjun to which he survived but where so many of his friends fell... He wished to pay them a special tribute here.
